The EVON Fold1 is a folding fat-tyre electric bike built for South Africans short on space but not on capability. The folding steel frame tucks away in a car boot, a flat entrance or under a desk, then unfolds into a proper 20-inch fat-tyre bike that handles beach sand, gravel and potholed tar with ease. A 48V 500W high-speed brushless motor takes you up to 45 km/h, while the 624 Wh lithium battery slides out for indoor charging — handy when load shedding means grabbing power whenever it’s available. A dual-crown suspension fork soaks up rough ground, the rear cargo rack carries your shopping or work bag, and front and rear disc brakes keep you in control. Compact enough for a flat or a bakkie, tough enough for the daily commute.

• 150 kg maximum load: The high-carbon steel frame supports riders and cargo up to 150 kg, making it practical for larger riders or loaded trips.
